We are seeking a motivated and experienced Facilities Coordinator with proven project staff management and organisational skills to be responsible for the daily running and planned maintenance of our office and accommodation compounds in Juba South Sudan.
The successful candidate will have proven relevant relief experience in housekeeping and maintenance ideally in the service sector or with a commercial company but want a fresh challenge in an interesting environment.
Responsibilities will include the management of the facilities function including the line management of the in-house chef, cleaners and the identification, contracting and management of competent trades people such as electricians, plumbers and carpenters. You will be required to develop a planned schedule for the maintenance of two large properties and surrounding buildings within a tight budget, in order to ensure that the ongoing conditions for living and working for Tearfund staff in Juba remain safe and comfortable.
Experience of the limitations and frustrations of working in an insecure environment such as Juba would be ideal. The job holder will need to be able to work with limited direct supervision.
You will have previously shown excellent time management and organisational skills and be able to show that you understand the level of competency and standards required from housekeeping staff and trades people that are brought in. You will be able to engender a recognition of “team” amongst the facilities staff and develop a stronger sense of pride and purpose in their important contribution to the work of Tearfund in South Sudan.
Excellent written and spoken English is a requirement for this role and will be tested prior to appointment.
